I've had an amazing experience studying jiu jitsu under Jason Bukich at Cho Academy. I spent a couple of years searching for the right place--and in Orange County, that can be a challenge. There's no shortage of options or glowing five-star reviews, but I was looking for something more: a genuinely welcoming environment paired with top-tier instruction. At Cho's Academy, I found exactly that. One thing I've learned is that being a great athlete or having an impressive lineage doesn't automatically make someone a great teacher. But in Jason's case, it absolutely does. He's not only an exceptional jiu jitsu practitioner, but also has a natural ability to connect with students at any level--whether you're a complete beginner or highly experienced.I chose to start with private lessons and plan to supplement with group classes. Jason tailors the training to your individual learning style--this is not a one-size-fits-all approach. What's clear to me as a student--and as a 60-year-old guy--is that Jason has a real passion for both jiu jitsu and teaching.
